COVID-19 Update:

On 23rd June 2020 the Government announced that accommodation providers can open on Saturday 4th July and that two households can safely and legally stay overnight in the same accommodation. We are therefore delighted to be able to welcome you at Riverside Cottages from 4th July 2020 on wards.

For all holidays commencing after 4th July 2020, our existing Booking Conditions and Cancellation Policy applies.


We have developed the following protocol for the safety of both our guests and housekeepers and have undertaken the nationally recognised certification scheme called 'We're Good To Go' by Visit England.

We ask all our guests to be respectful of the following policies when they visit us.

By us putting these extra measures in place we hope that you feel reassured for your safety , if you have any other queries please do not hesitate to contact us


Check In 

Our usual procedures still apply. Keys for the property are kept in a key safe next to the front door and you will receive the code for this prior to your stay. These will have been sanitised before your arrival.


A revised check in time of 4pm has been put into place to allow extra time for the deep cleaning procedures that have been introduced.


Check Out - What We Ask You To Take Responsibility For

For the safety of our housekeepers we kindly ask that you comply with the following requests upon your departure:

  • As an extra precaution we are asking that guests strip ALL beds prior to check out and leave ALL linen, towels and any other used laundry items in the bath, this is to ensure minimal contact for our house keepers.
  • Our standard check out time of 10am prompt remains.


Cleaning Procedure / Housekeeping

Our cottages have always been cleaned to a high standard, however in light of Covid-19 our house keepers have been issued with detailed guidelines on the additional measures needed to ensure all our properties are adequately sanitised, taking extra precautions to ensure all surfaces and places frequently touched such as handles, appliance controls, key safes, etc. are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised. They will be provided with a house keeping checklist that can be used during each clean to ensure nothing is forgotten or missed.


Our house keeping staff have been advised to wear disposable aprons, eye protection, gloves and a face mask which they will take away with them to dispose of. This is for your protection, as well as theirs.


A range of cleaning materials including a bottle of Virucidal spray (a well known cleaning product used to kill the virus), blue roll, anti-bacterial wipes and anti-bacterial hand gel will be left in each property for guests to use during their stay. We ask that these products are not taken from the cottages so that they can be topped up and left for the next guests.


Although we provide a range of pots, pans, roasting tins, crockery, glassware and cutlery for you to use during your stay, please note that these items are deemed to be cleaned but not sanitised. You can use these items at your own discretion or place in the dishwasher before use. There will also be some items left in the property that physically cannot be sanitised for example books and board games etc. so again these items are to be used at your own discretion. 


What To Do If You Develop Symptoms Of Covid-19 Whilst On Holiday

If you begin to display signs of Covid-19 i.e. continuous cough, high temperature or shortness of breath whilst staying in the property, after contacting us immediately to inform us of the circumstances , you should then return home to self- isolate. Once home we advise you to visit the NHS website for instructions on what do next and how to request a test.

If for any reason making the journey home is not possible and you have to self-isolate in the property, you will be liable to cover the cost of your extended stay and/or any bookings that have to be cancelled as a result.
