What to expect during your stay at Riverside Cottages...

Basic Supplies:

  • A basic supply of tea, coffee, sugar and salt and pepper
  • Washing up liquid
  • Dishwasher tablets
  • Cling film & kitchen foil
  • Bin bags
  • 2 x tea towels
  • 1 x dish cloth
  • Hand soap
  • Loo rolls ( 1 x on the holder and 1 spare per bathroom)
  • Mop & bucket
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Wi-Fi (fibre) 


Useful Information:

  • 1 x travel cot (if requested) - please supply your own travel cot linen
  • 1 x high chair (if requested)
  • 2 x Hair dryers 
  • Fresh linen with beds made up upon arrival
  • Fresh towels - one bath sheet and one hand towel per guest, plus hand towels provided in each bathroom
  • 1 x log burner in the main living room
  • 1 x small complimentary basket of logs supplied upon arrival (due to health and safety we cannot supply fire lighters or matches so please bring your own)
  • Smart TV's with DVD players in all bedrooms, kitchen and living room.
  • Iron & ironing board
  • Washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Reception close by open from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm


Arrival & Departure:

  • Check in 3pm onwards
  • Check out is by 10am prompt


Cooking & Dining:

For any kitchen items that are absolutely vital for your stay, please check with us before your visit to ensure it is available (as things do sometimes get broken). The following kitchen appliances are supplied in each cottage:

  • Dining table and seating for 6 guests
  • Pots, pans, roasting tins, crockery, glassware and cutlery
  • Gas hob and electric oven
  • Microwave
  • Kettle
  • Toaster
  • Cafetiere
  • Dishwasher
  • Fridge freezer 


Outside:

  • Terraced cottages with separate gardens to front and rear. The external perimeter of the three cottages is walled and the gardens are separated by wooden fencing
  • Two parking spaces are provided at the front of each cottage and additional car parking is available to the side of the cottages
  • Outdoor table and chairs are available during the summer months from 1st April to 30th September
  • BBQ's are available during the summer months from 1st April to 30th September (you will need to provide your own charcoal)


Things to know:

  • Please note that we accept dogs in cottages 1 and 2 only, however dogs must be kept under control at all times. We do charge £20 per dog for the duration of your stay. Please see our dog policy for further details
  • Noise Policy - due to the residential location, late night noise must be confined to inside the building by 10pm. Not suitable for stag/hen groups
  • Due to the character and age of the cottages, please note that the stairs are very steep so maybe unsuitable for the elderly or toddlers. Baby gates are not provided, guests are encouraged to bring their own
  • No fireworks
  • Wi-Fi is provided per property, however as the Peak District is in a beautiful rural location sometimes there can be intermittent signal/ technical issues that are beyond our control

  • The full address of the cottages is Riverside Cottages, Riverside Business Park, Buxton Road, Bakewell, DE45 1GS
  • Riverside Business Park is on the outskirts of Bakewell and the town centre is just a few minutes easy walk along the river bank
  • Bakewell offers a variety of local businessess including supermarkets, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Please see our Things to see and do page for more information
  • The majority of parking spaces in Bakewell are pay and display. You can however buy a Rover Pass (3 or 7 day parking pass) from the following link or from the Bakewell Swimming Pool in town.


Shopping Delivery Information:

  • For ease, lots of our guests pre-order a shopping delivery. You are very welcome to organise this however, please do make sure you have arranged the delivery time slot to arrive after you have checked in, as we are unable to accept it on your behalf
  • Our guests often ask for recommendations for local farm shops and butchers.  Sauced Here has similar functionality to an online supermarket but is only stocked by local suppliers in the Peak District - order your wine, meat, vegetables, dairy and so much more with a choice of over a thousand products and at reasonable prices. It's a great service which delivers straight to your holiday cottage or you can click and collect at a local pick up point
