What to expect during your stay...

Basic Supplies:

  • A basic supply of tea, coffee, sugar and salt and pepper
  • Washing up liquid
  • Dishwasher tablets
  • Cling film & kitchen foil
  • Bin bags
  • 2 x tea towels
  • 1 x dish cloth
  • Hand soap
  • Loo rolls ( 1 x on the holder and 1 spare per bathroom)
  • Dustpan & brush
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Washing machine and tumble dryer
  • Iron & ironing board
  • Hair dryer
  • Fresh linen with beds made up upon arrival
  • Fresh towels - one bath sheet and one hand towel per guest, plus hand towels provided in each bathroom
  • 1 x small complimentary basket of logs for the log burner supplied upon arrival (due to health and safety we cannot supply fire lighters or matches so please bring your own)
  • Travel cot and highchair available upon request prior to your stay - please supply your own travel cot linen
  • Televisions in all bedrooms and living spaces
  • Wi-Fi (fibre) 


Arrival & Departure:

  • Check in 4pm onwards (Riverside Cottages)
  • Check in 2pm onwards (Grange Barn)
  • Check out is by 10am prompt


Cooking & Dining:

For any kitchen items that are absolutely vital for your stay, please check with us before your visit to ensure it is available (as things do sometimes get broken). The following kitchen appliances are supplied in each property:

  • Pots, pans, roasting tins, crockery, glassware and cutlery
  • Gas hob and electric oven
  • Microwave
  • Kettle
  • Toaster
  • Cafetiere
  • Dishwasher
  • Fridge freezer 


Outside:

  • Two parking spaces per property
  • Outdoor table and chairs are available during the summer months from 1st April to 30th September
  • BBQ's are available during the summer months from 1st April to 30th September (you will need to provide your own charcoal). **Please note Grange Barn does not permit the use of BBQ's this includes disposables


Things to know:

  • Please note that we accept dogs in Riverside Cottage 1 and 2 only, however dogs must be kept under control at all times. We do charge £20 per dog for the duration of your stay. Please see our dog policy for further details
  • Noise Policy - due to the residential location, late night noise must be confined to inside the building by 10pm. Not suitable for stag/hen groups
  • Due to the character and age of the properties, please note that the stairs are very steep so maybe unsuitable for the elderly or toddlers. Baby gates are not provided, guests are encouraged to bring their own
  • No fireworks
  • Wi-Fi is provided per property, however as the Peak District is in a beautiful rural location sometimes there can be intermittent signal/ technical issues that are beyond our control

  • Located in the heart of the Peak District our properties provide the perfect base for walking, visiting stately homes or simply relaxing in the countryside
  • Surrounded by a variety of local businesses including supermarkets, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Please see our Things to see and do page for more information
  • Close by to the popular tourist towns of Bakewell, Buxton, Ashford in the Water, Baslow, Calver, Matlock, Hope Valley and many more


Shopping Delivery Information:

  • For ease, lots of our guests pre-order a shopping delivery. You are very welcome to organise this however, please do make sure you have arranged the delivery time slot to arrive after you have checked in, as we are unable to accept it on your behalf
  • Our guests often ask for recommendations for local farm shops and butchers.  Sauced Here has similar functionality to an online supermarket but is only stocked by local suppliers in the Peak District - order your wine, meat, vegetables, dairy and so much more with a choice of over a thousand products and at reasonable prices. It's a great service which delivers straight to your holiday cottage or you can click and collect at a local pick up point
